$25.00

The Money Tree, scientifically known as Pachira aquatica, is a popular houseplant recognized for its attractive braided trunk and lush green leaves. Native to Central and South America, it is often associated with good luck and prosperity in various cultures. The plant features glossy, palmate leaves that can grow up to five leaflets, resembling a hand, which adds to its charm. Typically reaching heights of 3 to 6 feet, the Money Tree is an eye-catching addition to any indoor space.

Care & Growing Condition:

  • Light: Money Trees thrive in bright, indirect light but can tolerate low light conditions. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch the leaves.

  • Water: Allow the top few inches of soil to dry out before watering. Water thoroughly, then let excess water drain away. Overwatering can lead to root rot, so ensure the pot has drainage holes.

  • Humidity: These plants prefer a humid environment. If your home is dry, especially in winter, consider misting the leaves or placing a humidifier nearby.

  • Soil: Optimal indoor temperature ranges between 65°F to 80°F (18°C to 27°C). Keep the plant away from drafts and sudden temperature changes.

  • Fertilizer: Fertilize with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Reduce feeding in fall and winter.

  • Repotting: Repot when the plant outgrows its pot, typically every 2-3 years. Use well-draining potting soil.

  • Pests/Diseases: Watch for common pests like spider mites and aphids. Treat infestations promptly with insecticidal soap or neem oil.
